IMPRIMATUR

A FORUM FOR THE ANALYTICAL DISCUSSION OF BMX CULTURE & Politics

PODCAST:

BMX BREAKDOWN: Jeff Klugiewicz
And Generational tension in BMX

by Mike Hinkens
August 7, 2018
In a new installment of the imprimaturBMX.com podcast, Mike Hinkens and his guest Jeff Klugiewicz discuss the tension developing between the older "mid-school" generation of BMX and the younger/new generation of riders. They also discuss the role various mediums (i.e. VHS, DVD, Streaming Video, and Social Media Apps) have in BMX culture and how those mediums affect the content we produce. While discussing the changes they have seen because of these new ways of sharing BMX, they address the concept of what it means to be "pro" and they also discuss how the many changes we are seeing in BMX are not necessarily indicators of problems in BMX as a whole.
